This legislation requires Medicaid and commercial health insurance pplans to cover non-opioid pain treatments on equal terms with opioids. The bill prohibits disadvantaging or discouraging the use of non-opioid treatments relative to opioids and guarantees immediate coverage upon FDA
approval.
